Ahmedabad Janmarg - Showing a way of modern mobility

There is famous saying the - if there is will, there is a way, and it perfectly suited to the 7th largest city of India - Ahmedabad.

Just 5 years ago Ahmedabad was among the top 10 most polluted cities of India, but today the face of the city has changed. Now the metropolis of Ahmedabad is almost pollution free thanks to initiatives taken by AMC and state government.

One example of this is Ahmedabad Janmarg - the modern BRT system which not only is scientific and effective but also useful and commuter friendly.

Long Title Bar, short title on page - Wordpress Hack

Ok, the post is based on my own experience [though limited] of Wordpress.

In Wordpress, title of the blog comes either in text or as an image. If your theme supports image as title then you need not follow this hack, but if your theme uses text to show the title [as mine] then this hack might help you.

I wanted a detailed title of my blog [as you can see in title bar], but a comparatively smaller one on page. So I did this, and you can follow the same:

Go to Settings > General Settings, and type your title as you want. [Image shown is of my Hindi Blog]

But when you see your blog in frontend, you would see this:

Of course you won’t like it. So, here comes the hack. Go to Themes > Editor and open Header.php.

Now search for following line

Now select the part highlighted in Yellow

Type your Blog name in short.

Now, save the file and check the blog in frontend:

This is helpful, because long title would help your blog indexed in search engines and at the same time it wont spoil the frontpage.

Google shows Arunachal Pradesh a part of China! Let’s protest

Nation is shocked as Google Maps is showing International border between Arunachal Pradesh and China in broken lines, just as it shows Line of Control between India and Pakistan. Not only this, Google Maps is showing areas of Arunachal Pradesh in Mandarin rather than Hindi along with English.

Let’s put a brave face and protest against this. I am stopping use of as much Google Services as possible, so do you.

“Happy?”  He said with his voice chocked.

He sat idol, and then he put a bouquet of red roses on the grave of her wife and stood.

“Nuts! You spent whole day to write this scrap?” Amit was quarrelling.

“Scrap!” Pankaj protested, “Your publisher friend Ragini promised me to consider publishing my 55 words stories.”

Amir recalled last SMS of Ragini – “How to get rid of him? Your friend is such an idiot, let him know this!”

Team Pak gave much needed “Gift” to the nation

Pakistan’s victory in World Twenty20 cricket is seems like a booster for a nation which is facing perhaps toughest time of history.

Pakistan captain Younis Khan said their World Twenty20 title was a ‘gift’ to their strife-torn nation and how true he is.

Pakistan is clear winner of this tournament and in the final also, they dominated the arena. Sri Lanka was not there in the game.

Pak team entered the tournament as underdogs, made a mockery of the favourites tag as they beat Sri Lanka by eight wickets in the final at the Lord’s in London.

Get ready to welcome new “Wave” of communication

Search engine giant Google is all set to launch a new platform that will change the way you communicate with people today. Google Wave, a free tool, expands the capabilities of email by allowing people to work together in real-time with text, photos, videos, maps and even social network feeds.
Wave is the brainchild of Lars Rasmussen and his brother, Jen, who earlier founded a tiny mapping startup called Where 2 Tech bought by Google in 2004.
In 2006 the Rasmussen brothers started their new project and codenamed it Walkabout. They were working with their small but efficient team to develop a system that can merge all the social activities taking place on internet.
After more than two years of expanding the idea, the prototype of Wave is now ready and it is a matter of suitable time before it gets released for the people.
A wave is equal parts conversation and document, where people can communicate and work together with richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.
In Google Wave you create a wave and add people to it. Everyone on your wave can use richly formatted text, photos, gadgets, and even feeds from other sources on the web. They can insert a reply or edit the wave directly. It’s concurrent rich-text editing, where you see on your screen nearly instantly what your fellow collaborators are typing in your wave.
And the best part, thanks to Wave API, you can create your own Wave too!

Forget 1984, but why not 2002

In a press meet held at Ludhiyana, Punjab our PM Manmohan Singh correctly said that – we should move ahead and forget about 19984 anti Sikh riots.

He said: But few people want to keep it alive forever, just because they score mileage with it. But it is not in favor of nation or the Sikh community.

I agree with you Mr. PM, but would like to ask you a question. Why don’t you and your party and your pseudo secularist colleagues apply same thing on Gujarat riots. Why don’t you say that: But few people want to keep it alive forever to score mileage. But it is not in favor of nation or the ….

I am sure you won’t say this; after all it is a matter of vote bank.
