ज़िन्दगी तुझ पर गज़ल लिखुंगा बाद में,
आँसुओं से आँखों को भिगों लुँ पहले,

ज़िन्दगी बाद में देखुंगा चेहरा तेरा,
दिल जहाँ दफन है उस कब्र पर रो लुँ पहले,

डर है ख्वाब के साथ कहीं खो न जाए आँखें,
जब उठुँ तो अपने चेहरे को टटोलुँ पहले,

कि वो भी आ जाए तो न खोलुँ दरवाजे,
दस्तकों ने मुझे वो दाग दिए हैं पहले.
