pandva.jpg"Invention is the mother of Destruction" it is popularly heard. Technology and new inventions are being cursed as it is hampering the growth of society and taking youngsters to the steps of devastation.

But think again before saying it, because – "How we see things around us, depends on how we see things inside us"

Here's a live example of 5 strangers, coming from different walks of life, ‘Orkut.com’ a confluence point, get a spark of life, share a platform together & expose their skills on photography – “A Calligraphy of Light ”.

These 5 strangers - Abhijit Chakrabarti, Mahipal Vala, Jagriti Tank, Bhaskar Dutta and Bageshree Shah met up on orkut.com and their passion for photography gave them zeal to set their skills and creativity before the world. Sometime in May the idea cropped out and one and half month’s sheer hard work bore fruits on 5th July.

These were not just like any other fruits. But these fruits turned out to be sweetest and also turned golden when Mr. Zaverilal Mehta and Mr. Dalwadi walked in for inauguration and appreciated their eye catching photographs and also guided these amateurs a new way to look through their lens.

Other than them there were many other big personalities like Mr. Sanath Sodhan (Famous Wildlife Photographer) walked in to pat backs of these youngsters and also encouraged and boosted up their morals. Among the other well known persona were Mr. Deepak J. Mathew (Coordinator Photography – NID), Mr. Ketan Modi (Coordinator Photography – Navgujarat College), Alok Brahmbhatt (Correspondent – Better Photography Magazine), Siddharth Metha (General Manager – Torrent Power), Sailesh Rawal (Principle Photographer – India Today), Kevin Antao (Photographer - Times of India) who visited the exhibition, were pleased by the display, showered appreciation and shared their views.

The exhibition turned out to be successful when an overwhelming response was seen from crowds of people walking in from all different walks of life and from all different places in and around Ahmedabad.

'A Calligraphy of Light' - enabled the participants not only to have their own space for their lenses but also enabled them to interact with other talented fellow artists in a stimulating environment and interact with senior and established photographers, Art institutions, media people and many more.

What we see on stage is the finale of the show. These main characters always take away the limelight and the crowd forgets the people backstage who have also worked hard to make the show successful. I take an opportunity here to give my hats off to these people who played a very crucial role in making this exhibition a success. These people in disguise were Siddharth Bist, Khusboo Benani, Yankee Tandon, Sanjay Bengani, Pankaj Bengani, Khushi Bengani, Prasenjit Biswas, Ayaz Daruwala, Jaimin Bhavsar, Prashant, Abhay, & Pratipal. Not to forget Mr. Paren and Mr. Ketan Modi for their timely guidance and instructions. There might have been some others too, about whom I might not have been aware of!

Who says that - "Invention leads to Destruction" I say - "Invention Leads to Construction and Construction to Creation".

This creativity was not only to its par excellence but a stepping stone towards further success!

All my best wishes for a great future to these mind boggling creative heads!!

It is indeed a nice description of what we are and what we wanted to be.. Yes.. we cant forget the contribution of several people who helped us all thoughout.. Just to add.. Jaimin and Ayaz Daruwala.. Vrinda.. even ur encouragement counts a lot!! In fact everyone who encouraged us all throughout has definitely got their share in our achievement (for me, I guess my Ma and Bhai gets the full share...). I am sure, if you all are with us... no one can stop us achieving what we want!

Thanks a lot Brinda for your encouragements and complements, not only here on TARAKASH but also through-out the exhibition... Your surprise entry was one spark DADA needed to be at his best.. and when Dada at his best, everything around turns out to be the best smilies/smiley.gif I have seen this during our preparation for the exhibition... even though all of us were contributing to the preparation, DADA has been on it full time and with full dedication... it was amazing. Also, my special thanks goes to our family - all of them, for being there by our side, all the time. It has been a great experience for me personally, to interact with so many people from the world of photography. I will cherish this forever.

No better reward than this can be expected :-)
Brinda,
Huge crowd visited the Exhibition! Many of them wrote their views in the Visitor's book! There were media people, who took our interview and put it up as a nice story in the leading news papers.
But very few (or rather none other than you) took the pains to write an article on this one of its kind exhibition, and appreciate our efforts.
The Journos were doing their part of job, other visitors were also kind enough to write their comments. But what you did, is the actual reward for the efforts we five have put in.
I won't say thanks, as this effort of your's is much above such small words.
