1857-india.jpgThe revolt of 1857 is known as the first battle for freedom. Now this revolt shall be presented in the form of film. The sets and everything else is ready for the same. Under the Chairmanship of Honorable Prime Minister one committee was formed nearly two years back and this committee has asked for the scripts for such film from the famous film makers.

During that time, prominent film makers like Aparna Sen, Ketan Mehta, M.S. Satyu, Sudhir Mishra, Anurag Kashyap, etc. had sent their scripts and concepts. But out of this the script by famous script writer of award winning film ‘Godmother’, Vinay Shukla got selected.

The story of Vinay Shukla's revolt of 1857 revolves around the three main characters Tatia Tope, Rani Laxmibai, Nanasaheb Peshwa. The most interesting part of the film is that the whole film will be narrated by Tatia Tope. He shall tell the audience that how Rani Laxmibai and Nanasaheb Peshwa worked out the revolt against the Britishers. He will also reveal some facts as how his relationship with Rani Laxmibai and Nanasaheb became little bit bitter because of difference of opinion.

The pre-production of the film is almost over now and shooting schedules will be set within four months. Presently, some of the big stars of bollywood are being contacted for the lead roles. The film shall be produced by the National Film Development.
