The Photography Club of Ahmedabad is celebrating its 4th Annual Photography Exhibition

The Photography Club Of Ahmedabad is a non profit organization that has seen a lot of growth since its inception

The PCA was formed by a group of photo-enthusiasts in the year 2004, who got together in a "Learning Photography" class organized by Times Journal of Photography (TJP) in Ahmedabad, under the guidance and teaching skills of renowned Amateur photographer and photo-enthusiast, Shri Shirish Barodia. These handful youths decided to form a group under the name of “The Photography Club of Ahmedabad, popularly known as thePCA. They took up the responsibility to propagate the culture of Photography not only among themselves, but also various people in their individual circles. As the years passed by new members started joining this group, essentially all those who undertook the above said course (organized by TJP). Some moved out to different cities, but still were in touch and part of the group. Similarly there were many new people moving into this city and some how got in touch with members of this club in various interesting manners and incidentally got inducted into the group. This group made its presence on ‘www’ - internet in various forms. Mr. Dewang Modi took the first initiative to form yahoo group by name “thePCA” on 4th February, 2004, with an initial membership of 8 – 10 (on internet). With the presence of this group on internet, more people became aware of it. Within sometime (year 2006), the group came up with its own website – www.thepca.com, designed & maintained by Mr. Aamir Kadri. Finally around 1½ year back thePCA community / group was formed on flickr.com (online photo gallery powered by yahoo) & on Orkut (social networking portal) was created by Mr. Paren Adhyaru. Eventually the founders & other enthusiasts took pains to propagate the group and encouraging more and more people to join it. Their efforts were paid back generously, taking its membership upto 492+ world wide.

The Photography Club Of Ahmedabad is a non profit organization that has seen a lot of growth since its inception. The aim of The PCA is to promote photography and guide budding photographers and help them realize their vision. The group is open to like minded photo-enthusiasts from around the world who would like to share their skills, expertise, photos and experiences with other members of the club. Members of this group selflessly guide anyone who needs help in the photography department. The PCA has some senior personnel who have a vast experience in the field of photography. From those who have photographed for newspapers and magazines, to those who teach in respected institutes, thePCA has an excellent portfolio, both in group as well as individually. Members of the group meet regularly for slideshows, discussions and outdoor shoots. While thePCA is a discussion forum on the web, it has moved onto being a very active bunch of photographers who are dedicated to photography.

The Photography Club of Ahmedabad is celebrating its 4th Annual Photography Exhibition. It’s time for not only putting up some of the best photographs by the members of this group, but also enriching this hobby, culture, passion called photography in an interesting interactive way as follows:
