ImageBrit-nominated British group ‘Girls Aloud’ is being misused by some cyber-criminals to spread a new computer virus, which can scan a hard drive to get personal information so as to exploit it for identity theft.

McAfee, a Computer Viruses healing software Development Company have revealed that the fake file poses as a music track, a porn clip or a popular film.

When a user tries to open the file, it automatically starts installation of Adware and spywares. So far the virus has infected about 5,00,000 computers worldwide.

The experts have revealed that the fake file has been widely distributed on the eDonkey and Limewire file-sharing networks, and only those using Windows are vulnerable to the malicious program.

So beware of it. Never open any email with "Girls Aloud" subject or containing porn or explicit images. If you are using file sharing services like Limewire, you should take extra care.
