Zephyr aircraft, developed by Brithsh technology firm Qinetiq, set a new record for the longest time spent in flight by a solar powered aircraft after remaining in the air for three and a half days.

The plane is designed to provide surveillance and communication support for military personnel on the ground by circling slowly over a battle zone, tracking troop movements with its on-board camera. It can reach 112kmph at 60,000 ft.

This is an unmanned aircraft and it stores power from the sun in its batteries which keeps It fly through the night.

The aircraft is said to be a very useful surveillance system in war.
