To give Internet Explorer run for its money, Google inc. has launched it's open source web browser Chrome on Tuesday. Some of the key features of this new web browser are:
- It is based on the Webkit, the same code is used by Mozilla Firefox and Apple Safari.
- Google Chrome Beta is currently available only for Windows.
- Google Chrome redefines the tabbing system. Each tab behaves independent to each other. So if a particular tab hangs with a buggy page, user can easily close that particular tab without closing entire browser.
- Tabs are located on top part of the browser, each tab can be detach from the browser.
- Each tab will have its own controls and its own URL bar, which Google's developers are calling the "Omni bar"
- The Omnibox isn't just somewhere to type web addresses - it will also suggest pages you have visited before, and popular pages you haven't visited, based on the keywords you type into the box.
- You'll be able to search your browser history from the Omnibox to return to pages you visited previously but didn't bookmark.
- Google Chrome has a private browsing mode - if you create what it calls an Incognito window, then pages won't be saved in your history and when you close the window, any related cookies will be deleted.
- Google Chrome will feature a new Javascript virtual machine which fast then before.
- Google Chrome is secure. It doesn't store anything on hard disk.
There are many more features also, if you know something more, kindly write it down using comment box.
