She was born in Surat, brought up in Mumbai and made career in South. She is now termed as South Sensation. Many thinks, she may well become Indian movie industry's answer to Lucy Lawless.
She is Namitha. One of most successful actress of Kollywood.
After entering Tollywood, she immediately grabbed the attention of Telugu film lovers with Sontham and acted in Gemini as Bhairavi though the films didn’t fare well in the box office.
But it did not hamper her career. She starred in Tamil Film "Aai" the song "Arjuna Arjuna" along with Sarath Kumar, which ended up as a big hit.
Today you can find temples devoted to this actress in South India.
