I bet, you have not seen a superhero as confused as he is! He is Drona.
Drona is a confusing movie, and on top of that it is big letdown as well. Goldie Behel seems to be confused about the story he wanted to narrate. It has glamour, it has magic, it has superb special effect, but what it does not have is something most important to all, which is well written Script.
Story:
Drona is a story of Aditya [Abhishek Bachchan], who is brought up by a foster family. There is an evil magician Riz Raizada [Kay Kay Menon], a descendant of the Asuras. He is desperate for a precious secret -- the amrit. But to get that he has to win war against Drona, but he doesn’t know who he is?
One fateful day, Riz recognizes Drona and starts chasing him. Oh, there is a beautiful guard Sonia as well, played by Priyanka Chopra. She makes Aditya realize his true identity.
Sonia takes Aditya to his birthplace, to his mother, Queen Jayati Devi [Jaya Bachchan]. Aditya gets to know his roots and begins Drona's journey. In the end, never mind it’s just same old story…
Pick Points:
If you are a big fan of Priyanka Chopra and love to watch special effects on screen, go watch it.
Weak Points:
As I said, Drona is a big letdown. Music is pathetic and so does costumes. Abhishek does not look like a superhero at all. We do not know what and how much power he poses.
Surprisingly fantastic actors like Kay Kay and Jaya Bachchan are wasted in this film. Kay Kay does over acting, which is rare in case of him. Cinematography is average.
Finally:
Drona disappoints. It has all but there is no soul.
