When you make a remake of super successful film, you eventually take risk. Because when people see the adopted movie, they tend to compare it with the original one. Himesh Reshammiya starrer Karzzzz is remake of Subhash Ghai’s super successful Karz. The Later one was legend and this one is so to say for a particular class.
Story:
It is a story of Monty [Himesh Reshammiya] who lives in South Africa and is a rock star. One day he meets Tina [Shweta Kumar] and falls in love with her. Now, here comes the real twist. One day during one of his shows, Monty starts playing a tune and suddenly goes into a trance, with intense visual flashes -- a mansion, a temple, a beautiful girl... yes almost everything Rishi Kapoor remembered in original flick.
Then starts the journey of new Monty who wants to know the real story of the victim, a Ravi Verma [Dino Morea], who died in a tragic accident. During the course he realizes that he is “born again” Ravi Verma. He was married to a beautiful girl called Kamini [Urmila Matondakar]. And later on he fights back with the destiny…
Pick Points:
You can watch this movie to witness the confidence and energy of Himesh Reshammiya. He is a true entertainer. He may not have talent of Aamir Khan or rest of super stars but what he has is energy and passion.
Weak Points:
There are lots of flaws in the film. Second half is bit too stretched. Urmila looks dull in this movie. She has been styled badly, though she performs well in the film.
Finally:
Karzzzz is a pure masala film made for a certain section of people and they are going to have great time watching this movie. But for rest of all, it is better to wait for DVD or to pick something else.
